Niklas har lekt skogsarbetare under de senaste veckorna. Tyvärr hade jag inte min kamera med mig när han gjorde sitt mest imponerande arbete. Som en liten apa klättrade Niklas upp i ett pilträd och sågade ner flera stora grenar som skymde en gammal syrenbuske.
Niklas has played lumberjack during the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me when he did his most impressive work. Like a little monkey, Niklas climbed up a willow tree and sawed down several big branches, which were shading an old lilac bush.
Det här är ett äppelträd som höggs ner en gång i tiden och ersatts med ett minivindkraftverk. Trädet kämpade tillbaka och när vi köpte torpet stod vindkraftverket mitt bland grenarna. Det såg löjligt ut! Äntligen föll vindkraftverket ner i vintras, men trädet såg fortfarande trist ut. Vi sparade de få grenarna som hade blommor på och tog bort alla andra.
This is an apple tree that was chopped down long ago and replaced with a mini wind turbine. The tree fought back and when we bought the cottage the turbine was surrounded by branches. It looked ridiculous! The turbine finally fell this winter, but the tree still looked a little sad. We saved the few branches that had flowers and got rid of the rest.
Jag hoppas att vi får några äpplen nu när trädet får lite mer sol och luft.
I hope we'll get a few apples now that the tree gets more sun and room.
Ett av våra päronträd har börjat klyvas på mitten, så det har fått lite stöd av en kedja. Mycket jobb med gamla fruktträd!
One of our pear trees has started to split in two, so it has received a little support from a chain. So much work with old fruit tress!
