I höstas rev vi bort den ruttna kalltrappan vilket gjorde det lite svårt att ta sig upp till övervåningen. Vi har en lucka i taket så vi kan klättra upp för en stege till den så kallade kattvinden, men därifrån behövde vi en väg in till bostadsutrymmet.
In the fall we demolished the rotten stairway ,which has made it a little difficult to get up to the second floor. We do have a hatch in the ceiling so we can climb up a ladder to a crawlspace on the second floor, but from there we needed a way into the living area.
Vi bestämde oss för att göra ett hål bakom ett skåp. De stående plankorna, som ses inne i skåpet, är minst 7 cm tjocka. Det kommer inte att bli ett lätt jobb!
We decided to make a hole behind a cupboard. The vertical planks that can be seen inside the cupboard are at least 7 cm thick. This is not going to be easy work!
Men med en motorsåg går allting snabbt.
But with a chainsaw everything goes fast.
Inom 15 minuter hade vi ett hål. Niklas sågar bort lite papper så att hålet ska se fint ut.
Within 15 minutes we had a hole. Niklas sawed away a little paper so the hole would look nice.
Återanvändning på 30-talet - använder sockerlådor som byggnadsmaterial.
Recycling in the 1930s - use the wooden boxes that sugar was delivered in as building material.
