Tujan som vi planterade förra året trivs så bra att vi bestämde oss att plantera en till. Träden säljas som billiga häckväxter, men de kan bli mycket mer. Om man inte klippa dem, kan de bli 6-8 m höga och väldigt vackra.
The cedar tree we planted last year is doing so well, that we decided to plant another one. These trees are sold as inexpensive hedge-plants, but don't be misled. If you don't trim them into a hedge, they can grow to be 6-8 metres tall and can be quite beautiful.
Vädret har varit så fint och varmt att jag var tvungen att så några fröer. Det finns olika sorters sallad, palsternacka och de halv-ätna smultronplantorna under det här fönstret. Hungriga rådjur kommer inte åt dem nu! Rädisorna fick plats under ett annat fönster. Hoppas att sommarvädret fortsätter och ingen frost kommer!
It's been so nice and warm that I couldn't resist sowing some seeds. There are a few types of lettuces, parsnips, as well as the half-eaten wild strawberries under this window, where they should be protected from hungry deer. Radishes went under one of the other windows. Hope that no heavy frosts come!
Vi har satt två olika sorters potatis – en tidig som kallas för Magda och en sen sort som kallas för sparrispotatis. Vi hoppas att de få vi har planterat nu kommer att bli klara till midsommar.
We've planted two types of potatoes - an early type called Magda and a later variety called sparrispotatis (asparagus potato, directly translated). We're hoping that the few we've set out now will be ready to harvest for midsummer.
